Gras sem slegi\u00f0 er reglulega \u00ed 3,5 &#8211; 4,5 cm h\u00e6\u00f0 myndar \u00ed flestum tilfellum ekki fr\u00e6 til a\u00f0 vi\u00f0halda heilbrig\u00f0i og \u00fe\u00e9ttleika.<\/p>\n<p>Best er a\u00f0 yfirs\u00e1 samhli\u00f0a fyrstu \u00e1bur\u00f0argj\u00f6f, t.d. um mi\u00f0jan ma\u00ed. Fyrir s\u00e1ninguna er gott a\u00f0 raka kr\u00f6ftuglega \u00ed gegnum fl\u00f6tina me\u00f0 hr\u00edfu til a\u00f0 losa um dautt gras sem fellur \u00e1 yfirbor\u00f0i\u00f0 m.a. vi\u00f0 sl\u00e1tt og myndar lag af svo k\u00f6llu\u00f0u \u00fe\u00e6fi (e. thatch).
